How do I add songs from an ipod to Itunes library?

Wanted to know if there is a program that allows you to add songs from an ipod to the itunes library. Songs got deleted but I have the songs stored on my ipod and wanted to put them back.How do I add songs from an ipod to Itunes library?
First of all if it is a ipod touch this wont work.

1 create a folder on your desktop called music

2 connect your ipod

3 open up my computer and open up your ipod

4 click on control if not there go to properties and uncheck the hide items box

5 go to music

6 copy all the files to your music folder on your desktop

7 wait
