My hard drive on my macbook recently died and i had to have it replaced. None of my information could be saved and as a result i lost everything including my 7 gb of music; i now have no music on my iTunes library and most of my songs were bought from the iTunes store, is there any way to put the music from my ipod back onto my computer? How to transfer music from iPod touch to my iTunes library?
The most convenient and secure way is to use an iPod-to-mac transfer program to help you. This is how I did. I used 4Media iPod to Mac Transfer. http://gutensoft.com/Utilities/4Media-iP鈥?/a>
It can help easily transfer all music, photos, videos, podcast, and TV shows on your iPod back to Mac completely and safely, and add them to your local iTunes library. Also, you can use it to transfer files from iPod to iTunes or from Mac to iPod in a direct way.
The great thing is that it won't cause any deletion of any files while transferring.
Here is step-by-step guide:

As long as most of your songs were purchased from the iTunes Store, then there's a much easier solution than the suggested applications. However, this method will erase any songs on your iPod that were not purchased using your iTunes Store account. If you need non-iTS purchases, skip my suggestion. Otherwise, here's how to reverse-sync those purchases back onto your computer:
1. Open iTunes and make sure it is the most current version.
2. From the "Store" menu, choose "Authorize Computer".
3. Enter your account name and password, then click "Authorize".
Now, is there any chance at all you have multiple accounts? If so, authorize those account names as well. Once you've done so, connect your iPod to your computer. If it does not begin syncing your songs back onto your computer, use "Transfer purchases from [iPod name]" from the pull-down "File" menu (or possibly in the "iTunes" menu).
If, however, you need (or want) the non-iTS purchases on your iPod, then the application you need is heavily dependent on what iPod model/generation you are using and what OS version. The best place to start is on Wiki's comparison page:
