How do you transfer songs from an iPod into an iTunes library?

Title says it all - I'm trying to transfer songs from my iPod into someone else's computer. (Or perhaps their iTunes library?) I already have my iPod hooked into their computer and it's showing up on iTunes, I just don't know how to transfer all the songs into the iTunes library and into their computer.

Step-by-step answers are appreciated~How do you transfer songs from an iPod into an iTunes library?

Hello,

It won't be a problem if you use iPod to iTunes transfer from here:

This is a regular iPod right? not a Touch? if so, go to "My Computer" then click on the iPod, then click "Tools" then "Folder Options" then click the "view" tab and check "Show hidden files and folders" after that there should be a folder in your iPod that says "iPod_Control" click that and then look through the folders until you find one that has several folders in it with names like "001" or something like that I can't quite remember, but all the folder names are very similarly named. In Those folders is the music and videos. They won't have the actual song name on them they will have 4 random letters on them. They will how ever show the artist name on it. drag those music files into your iTunes library, If your friend is planning on keeping those songs on their computer then you should drag them to a folder in their desktop or documents.

let me know if you need further help. How do you transfer songs from an iPod into an iTunes library?

With it, you can:

1: Transfer/Share iPod files from one iPod to another iPod.

2: Transfer/Backup iPod files from iPod to your computer.

3: Transfer/Backup iPod files from iPod to your iTunes.

4: Manage your iPod like a movable hard drive and transfer ipod videos/photos/music between iPod and iPod, iPod and computer/laptop, ipod and itunes.

Unless your library is on that persons computer, you cannot. There are free programs you can use to do so, but if you have an iTouch or iPhone, there are no free programs for it. I know because I was in your situation.

Apple purposely made iPods that way to fight piracy.

You can put your iPod library on your friends computer, but it will remove all their previous songs.
The fastest and simplest way is by using Senuti, Its Itunes backwards lol.

Google and download it, its a free trial but its enough to transfer all the songs into a completely new itunes library, and the process is quite simple no step by step is needed :)

Yeah sorry senuti is for mac only if your on a PC just search for a similar program
You can use an ipod to computer transfer program to help.I personally use Cucusoft iPhone/iTouch/iPod to Computer Transfer. It helps me to transfer my songs/videos/photos/playlists etc from ipod to my computer iTunes directly and safely. It works well for me,you can give it a try.

Free download it at: http://www.dvd-video-soft.com/ipodconver…

It even has step-by-step guide on the whole process.

Hope it helps.

theres an assload of free software out there that rips the files off the pod to a folder and then all you have to do is upload the new folder into the library. i did it once it took about 2 hours. the more songs you have the longer it takes. about a half hour per 1000 songs. just google it. hope that helps
Just use a iPod Transfer, it can help you to transfer music, video, files from iPod to Computer/iTunes, and transfer from iPod to iPod.

You can't unless they were purchased from that itunes library. Then you would right click on transfer purchases when ipod is connected.
not do-able.

best option is dling each song from a torrent or something that your friend likes from your ipod.
sharepod. no trial. will get you everything you need. even categorizes your music
easiest way to do it is with, a few programs that are available-

if on a mac try "senuti"

if on a pc try "touchcopy"

hope that helps :)
