How do I get a recording from my computer to my itunes library? ?

I put a recording from my digital wave player into my computer library, but don't know how to get it from there into my itunes library. Once I get it there I can put it onto my ipod.How do I get a recording from my computer to my itunes library? ?
To get it into iTunes you need to import it somehow. First off, try double clicking on the file to see what it opens with (this will depend on your computer settings) - it may open in iTunes and then your set to go. Otherwise you may be able to import it directly into iTunes (depends on the file type) - either by dragging and dropping it into iTunes or using the import options under the "File" menu in iTunes. If that doesn't work your best bet would be to burn it to a CD and then rip it into iTunes, provided you can get it to open with another program such as Windows Media Player to burn that CD.
